Al Eastman

Al Eastman, long time member of Flying Club 1, passed away on February 9, 2002. Al had lived a wonderfully full life and was in the process of completing a Loehle Parasol aircraft that he had already named For Pete's Sake.

For those who did not Al, he was a decorated WWII flyer. He served in bombers in Italy at the age of 20. He also participated in the Berlin airlift.

In retirement, he was a freelance magazine writer, a licensed commercial pilot, and was a member of both the EAA and the USUA. He also belonged to the Washington Aero Club, the National Aeronautic Association, and the Air Force Association. Al had a lot of flying stories to tell, and would do so willingly.

During the last several years of his live, Club 1 members enjoyed reading some of Al's flying memories in the monthly Club 1 newsletter.
